My system is not bootng from windows normaly or from safe mode…?
My system ( Acer laptop aspire 5570) windows xp, service pack 2 or 3 i think, is not booting even from safemode either normally. I dont have a recovery disk or a operating system disk.It was asking press F1 to proceed and when pressing F1 its going to some errors and all. I need to copy the contents from my pc, or i need to re install if nothing possible then to format. how can i make an operating system? can i make it in USB? Please give me an answer as its very imminent…John
Hi John, If your system come with an operating system licensed and preinstalled, there must be a recovery disc with it, or when you are booting up your system you will find some options, like press such key to recovery Consolel, or so, but this one will delete all your files and will restore to factory settings. This one will work if your system came with a built in recovery facility.
If you doesn’t have a recoveryy kit and your system not came with an recovery console installed in it, you will need to reinstall your operating system, as this problem occurs when you have windows file missing only. So you will need to install it again. Or you can try if you have the same kind of XP CD (Means if you have windows XP professional, use professional only) t repair your windows. Or you can do a complete installation of your operating system, but if you wants your data to not loose, when the option coming to format your hard drive partition, please select the option that says “leave the current directory system”

Recovery Disk Problem on Satellite A40-151?
Hi,
Hope someone can help.
I bascially bought this laptop brand new quite a while ago and untill recently it has been working fine but then a few weeks ago the hard drive i believe just went, it went in the sense that everything would load and then the pc would lock or it would freeze on the windows loading screen.
Now i did a bit of research and from what i could gather my hard drive has gone.
I then bought a new hard drive for this exactually the same as i had same model same make etc and even same gb which is 30gb.
I placed in the new hard drive and went to install windows xp off the recovery disks, but now i get a problem it boots up and tries to install os but then about 15% in the disk stops spining and i get a 437 error that the file can not be run or something like that.
Have i done something wrong? do i need to buy a brand new os? hope someone can help

I think its around 3-4 years old.
I dont know for sure if this is true but im thinking maybe there isnt enough room on the hard drive, sometimes they like to put stuff on new HD’s.
Or it could be that the CD’s are damaged or scratched.
Have you deleted the Partion and formated the HD before installing the OS?

How do I reformat my Acer Aspire 9300 with no recovery disk?
I want to reformat my computer. I called the tech people, they said if I pressed alt and f10 after I started up my computer it would reformat my comp so that it only has the programs that came on it. I tried and can’t seem to get it to work. My system didn’t come with a recovery disk. Can I reformat it myself with no recovery disk? Any advice is greatly appreciated!
This will wipe my hard drive, but it will also restore the programs that came on the computer–so I shouldn’t just have an expansive paperweight. They said to press Alt and F10 right after you turn it on, before the password screen comes up? It’s possible that I’m pressing it at the wrong time but I’ll give it another shot.
If you reformat your drive without having an operating system or recovery disc you’re going to have an expensive paperweight. If you have a windows/linux/mac O/S disc you can wipe everything and start fresh again. You may want to look at the tutorial for which ever operating system you’re working with though.
