Also I have vista home edition. and my laptop is stuck on a black screen with a blinking underscore in the top left corner.and it has been like this for three days. I tired pressing (Alt +F10) but nothing happing. THe screen is still black.I want it back the way it was when I got it.
Acer laptops don’t need the recovery disks. On my Acer Aspire 5570Z with Vista Premium, I just do the following. Turn on the computer and when you see the white Acer screen fully loaded, press and hold Alt+F10 to do the reboot. From there, the reboot process would take about 25 minutes.

Vista Recovery Disk?
I just purchased an Acer Aspire 7520. It comes without recovery disk. How do I make a vista recovery disk? I am aware of the special partition that has a copy of the OS, but this will be of no use if I had a HD crash. I tried to follow the answer by sweetbytch24 posted here, but there is no pc help in all programs as suggested.

do what Zephyr has said , thats the way to do it, BUT SOMETHING YOU SHOULD KNOW, aser has had some problems with there reloading of windows from the reload disks that you are going to make , not all aser products have this problem but theres a few that did. what happens is when you need to use them to reload windows, they will fail and give you a error saying that they couldn’t finish reloading windows, now remember not all acer’s had that problem but some did. thats why i use norton’s ghost it has never failed to reload windows on any of my computers. i use it to make a complete backup image on a external HD attached to my network, all i have to do is insert my norton’s startup disk in any of my computers and tell it to restore my computer. you can have it restore it back to the way it was when you bought the computer, or have it set up to restore it to the last time you backed up, which will still have all your programs installed on it. something else if you want you can go on to acer and buy your reload disk from them, its cheap, and them never fail to reload windows back to factory specs

My laptop can’t perform disk check?
My laptop can’t perform disk check because it says is a RAW drive and I can’t seem to reformat it either! it won’t even let me re-install windows XP.. I tried booting it on safe mode but it just freezes and restarts again.. I tried downloading recovery programs but their complicated.. I’ve been stuck with this problem for like a month… can someone offer some advice?

help! (reformat acer aspire)
how can I reformat my acer aspire 5050 by using the recovery drive , if I have to use command prompt then what do I type in?
I dont have any vista disk and windows won’t start on it so I have to use the recovery drive (X: ) so how would I do that? Btw all of my stuff is on the other partition so I dont need to back up
also it wont start in safe mode and the only thing that doesnt bring up an error message in the recovery thingy is command prompt
When you power on the PC press, at the Acer screen, F10 (Not F8, that is for safe mode!) and follow the prompts…
