I didn’t buy the recovery disks for my laptop?

When I bought my hp pavilion dv6000t laptop, I didn’t buy the recovery disks along with it, because it said there was an option to make them yourself.

I found another tool called Acronis TrueImage that lets u take a backup image of your hard disk (including OS, Applications, custom settings, etc). If your computer then crashes, you can restore from this image to the same state as before the crash.

Another less bloated option is R-Drive Image, though i haven’t tried it yet.

The HP recovery manager will create disks that will restore your system to the factory state, meaning you loose everything.
